Eric Muth, Ph.D., is associate dean for research and graduate studies and a professor of psychology at Clemson. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that approximately 7 million people die annually due to outdoor and household air pollution, and nearly 1 million of those deaths are concentrated in the African region. Understanding and quantifying that pollution is critical to resolving it and saving lives. Solomon Bililign, Ph.D., a professor of physics at 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University, led an international team from Ethiopia, Botswana and Appalachian State University in a critical proof-of-concept study resulting in measurements suitable for long-term aerosol monitoring in Africa, which they presented last week at the American Geophysical Union annual conference in San Francisco 鈥 the world鈥檚 largest scientific gathering.

Within 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University鈥檚 athletic history, Al Attles, Sr. 鈥60 is one of the most successful athletes and alumni to ever play the sport of basketball. On Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, Attles and 11 other honorees will be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts.
