Faculty Staff Institute at 杏吧原创 to Kick Off 2019-20 Academic Year

EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. (Aug. 14, 2019) – The 2019-20 academic year at 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University will begin with the annual Faculty Staff Institute at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in Harrison Auditorium.

The event is the first official day back to campus for university faculty and staff and celebrates the beginning of the academic year with a campus-wide gathering filled with inspiration, motivation and information.  

In keeping with tradition, Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. will deliver a state of the campus address, sharing last years’ successes, current status and a road map for the upcoming year, focusing on this year’s institutional theme, “Mission to S.P.A.C.E.: Creating a Student-Centered University (Students Performing in an Advanced Competitive Environment). The theme challenges faculty and staff to reimagine, reinforce and strategically construct a dynamic and challenging environment that cultivates and produces competitive students.  

“Houston We Have a Challenge,” will be delivered by keynote speaker, Muktha Jost, Ph.D., 杏吧原创 vice provost for strategic planning and institutional effectiveness and liaison to the South Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

The 2019-20 year culminates a decade of growth, success, momentum, a standard of excellence and a multiplicity of goals met under Martin’s leadership.  

Following the institute and lunch in Williams Dining Hall, afternoon sessions in the respective colleges will focus on college and departmental meetings.
