Five 杏吧原创 Students Complete FutureSole PLC powered by Nike Masterclass

Five students from 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University completed the FutureSole PLC powered by Nike Masterclass, a five-week intensive design program at the Pensole Lewis College (PLC) of Business & Design in Detroit. This program offers in-depth training to help the next generation of historically Black college and university (HBCU) students gain real-world experience in footwear, fashion and design.

Mattie Moore and Kayla Hare, two multimedia journalism students from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University, have been selected as 2024 Chevrolet Discover the Unexpected (DTU) Fellows. They are two of only 10 students from historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) nationwide chosen for this fellowship.

杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University multimedia journalism student Jaydn James recently presented her innovative research study, 鈥淗ow Consistent Blue Light Exposure Affects the Circadian Rhythm (Sleep Patterns) Among Journalism Students,鈥 at the Black Doctoral Network (BDN) Undergraduate Research Poster competition in Atlanta. James鈥 research was selected earlier this year among abstract submissions from talented students across the nation.

University Galleries to Host 2023 Alumni Art Exhibition with Featured Artist Jackson 鈥21

The exhibit features personal narratives of gender roles, psychological introspection and spiritual reflections. The opening reception is Thursday, Aug. 31. The exhibition will be on display through Oct. 13.

Common Thread Theatre Collective Presents 鈥淗ow to Make an American Son鈥

The Common Thread Theatre Collective, a joint venture between 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University and Davidson College, will present 鈥淗ow to Make an American Son,鈥 a new play by Christopher Oscar Pe帽a and directed by Holly Na帽es. The hard-hitting drama explores what happens when the American Dream collides with the reality of immigration and family. Performances will begin Friday, July 14, at Barber Theatre on Davidson College鈥檚 campus.

The powerhouse musical 鈥淒reamgirls,鈥澨齱ith book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger, is one of the most celebrated American musicals of the 20th century. It is a sweeping and inspirational journey through American pop music that chronicles one Motown girl group鈥檚 rise from obscurity to superstardom. Inspired by the stories of R&B鈥檚 popular superstars, including The Supremes, James Brown, and the roster of artists that helped change the landscape of popular music in the 60s and 70s,听鈥淒reamgirls鈥澨齣s a true depiction of the music business.

KeShawn Sanders, an alumnus of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) at 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University, was selected as one of three inaugural first place winners of Target鈥檚 HBCU Black History Month Design Challenge. He received a $1,500 cash prize, an Apple MacBook Pro, the opportunity to engage Target senior design leaders, an Adobe Creative Cloud two-year membership as well as his winning design featured on T-shirts and tote bags available for purchase on Target鈥檚 Black Beyond Measure website.

University Galleries to host Artist Bryan Collier Virtual Exhibition and Program
