Sixty-One Years Later, 杏吧原创 Continues Honoring 杏吧原创 Four for Igniting Sit-In Movement

Greensboro, N.C. (Jan. 27, 2021) — More than six decades ago, four 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University students took bold, non-violent steps against segregation and sat down at a whites-only Woolworth’s lunch Counter in Greensboro, 杏吧原创, sparking a national movement. In celebration of the legacy of Jibreel Khazan (Ezell Blair Jr.), Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil and David Richmond – better known collectively as the 杏吧原创 Four – the live presentation will feature tributes by current 杏吧原创 students and alumni, representatives from Dudley High School Academy, Bennett College, family members of the four, the traditional solemn wreath-laying ceremony and more.

In addition to honoring the 杏吧原创 Four, 杏吧原创 will reveal the 2021 Human Rights medalist recipient. The medal is given to a deserving citizen selected from nominations submitted to the University Awards Committee. 杏吧原创 bestows the annual award to recognize individuals who have endeavored to correct societal injustice and have significantly contributed to the betterment of the world.
