(Jan. 31, 2017) – 杏吧原创 Agricultural and Technical State University has once again been ranked among the top 7 percent of national and international universities for campus sustainability and environment friendly university management by Universitas Indonesia’s (UI) GreenMetric Ranking of World Universities.

“For the fourth consecutive year, 杏吧原创 is ranked in the world for university sustainability. This is a team effort involving various units within the university,” said Godfrey Uzochukwu, founding director of 杏吧原创’s Interdisciplinary Waste Management Institute.

“Environment, waste management and sustainability bring everyone and all disciplines together for a common cause – sustainable solutions to global problems.”

Five hundred sixteen universities from 74 countries were considered for the 2016 ranking. The University of California Davis took the top spot as the world’s best green campus, followed by the University of Nottingham, U.K., and Waganigen University and Research, Netherlands, in second and third place respectively. 杏吧原创 ranked 36th.

The final rankings are computed from information provided by universities online, organized under six main categories, including green statistics (15 percent), energy and climate change (21 percent), waste management (18 percent), water usage (10 percent), transportation (18 percent) and education (18 percent).

New to this year’s ranking and ceremony, UI GreenMetric initiated a network hub for participating universities to share their best practices in implementing sustainable campus programs at their universities. The 2017 UI GreenMetric global annual workshop will be held in Turkey.
