ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ is also committed to and has a culture of continuous improvement through assessment and evaluation. Assessment begins with the institution’s educational values and is tied to its educational mission, strategic plan and vision for the future.
Part of the SACSCOC2 accreditation reaffirmation process requires institutions to provide a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which focuses on improving specific learning outcomes and/or student successes.
As a STEM-focused institution, mathematics is a critical competency for all ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ students, in all academic disciplines. However, with approximately one-third of its students earning grades of D, F or W (withdrawal) in undergraduate general education mathematics, the university identified the need for improvement of and student success in the mathematics curriculum. This QEP: Toward Enhanced Achievement in Mathematics (QEP: TEAM) focuses on those needs, strategies to improve student and instructor performance, the commitment of resources and timelines for implementation and assessment.

The purpose of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ is to improve student success, specifically student performance in general education mathematics courses.
QEP: TEAM PROPOSAL
The long-term goal of the QEP: TEAM is to improve students’ performance in general education mathematics courses and, therefore, their four-year graduation rates, and the short-term goals are to improve attendance and goal orientation.
