Special Circumstance
The FAFSA used your, and your parent’s (if dependent) 2023 federal tax and household information. If your family’s circumstances have changed, you may submit the 2025-2026 . The Appeal form must be completed in full and submitted with supporting documents. Appeal Forms submitted without supporting documents will be automatically denied.
Circumstances eligible to Appeal:
- A reduction in income.
- Divorce or separation of parents after signing the 2025-2026 FAFSA.
- Death of parent, or spouse after completing the 2025-2026 FAFSA.
- Other circumstances which have affected your or your parent’s income
Please note that Special Circumstance adjustments are made on a case-by-case basis and do not guarantee an increase in financial aid.
You are encouraged to periodically review your email for additional information requested by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Please allow approximately three to four weeks for your appeal to be reviewed and a decision rendered. The review process may take longer depending on the number of requests received. You will be notified of the action taken via email to your University email once your form is reviewed.
