OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED

The best way to advertise is by word of mouth. The Office of International Affairs is asking faculty to frequently mention study abroad events and opportunities.
Ways that you can assist the office

Promote study abroad opportunities by encouraging students to visit
The Office of International Affairs is available to support faculty and staff, whether they are new to leading trips at the university or returning trip leaders looking to enhance their study abroad programs. Our support includes:

Recommending Study Abroad Providers

Connecting trip leaders with host institutions in-country for academic engagement

Suggesting external short-term language immersion courses for students
-
Ensuring travel compliance with institutional policies
The Faculty/Staff-Led Study Abroad Planning Checklist can be found here. Faculty and staff interested in leading a Faculty/Staff-Led Study Abroad program are encouraged to work with their respective departments to explore funding opportunities that can help support program development and travel costs. Potential sources may include departmental budgets, college-level funding, grants, and external sponsorships.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to lead university-affiliated student trips to attend and present at international conferences, as these experiences offer significant academic, professional, and personal growth opportunities. Such trips advance the university’s mission to promote global engagement and student excellence.
Faculty/staff-led conference trips can:

Provide students with the opportunity to present research or creative work on an international stage

Expose students to global perspectives in their field of study

Enhance students’ professional networks and career readiness

Support participation in workshops, panels, or competitions

Promote high-impact learning aligned with the university’s global engagement goals

Strengthen the university’s visibility and reputation in international academic communities
All trips must adhere to university policies for international travel to ensure the safety, compliance, and academic integrity of the experience. Leaders serve as official university representatives and are responsible for providing on-site supervision.
